As I say goodbye to one if my
very best friends as she moves across the country and start a new adventure in
high school the very same day, I realize how great having true friends really is. "True
friendship isn't about being inseparable, it's about being separated and nothing
changes"
Background story: One of my best
friends, Minyoung, moved on Monday to New Jersey. It was the hardest goodbye
I’ve ever had to say. Well, I guess it was more like a see you later. Sylvia,
Julia, and I have already started planning our senior trip. We’re going to go
visit Min in New Jersey! She’ll be living like 45 minutes from New York City so
we’ll get to go there!
I feel like everything I’ve been
use to for the past few years changed in one day. Change is hard for me. When I
get use to something, I want it to stay that way. I know life is all about
changes, but sometimes I wish it wasn’t.
High School is completely
different from Junior High. It will take some getting used to. I’m not sure how
much I like it right now. It feels weird starting High School without Minyoung.
Yesterday was especially weird because she was supposed to be in two of my
classes so when they called her name on the role I had to tell them she moved.
Then I wanted to start crying but I couldn’t. I cried my eyes out when I got home on Monday after Sophmore
day.
"Even though we
change and we're all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when
the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other
because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so
much to the point where we're still not best friends."

Loves and Hugs xoxo
Emilie
